Geodic

Privacy Policy

Effective 16 September 2026

Geodic collects no personal data. It contains no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting, and no tracking of any kind. We operate no servers for this app and receive no information from it. There is nothing for us to sell, share or hand to anyone, because nothing reaches us in the first place.

The sections below explain what that means in practice.

The server you connect to is yours, not ours

Geodic talks only to the MeshCentral server whose address you type on the sign-in screen. The app has no default server, no fallback, and no hardcoded destination of any kind. Your credentials, your device list, your screen and terminal sessions, and any files you transfer all travel between your device and that server, over TLS.

If that server belongs to someone else — an employer, a client, a hosting provider — their privacy policy governs what happens to the data once it arrives. We have no visibility into it and no relationship with it.

What Geodic stores on your device

Everything Geodic saves stays on the device. Nothing is synced to iCloud and nothing is uploaded.

In the iOS Keychain

These items are stored with kSecAttrAccessibleWhenUnlockedThisDeviceOnly, which means they are readable only while the device is unlocked, are never included in device or iCloud backups, and never travel to another device.

In ordinary app preferences

Display settings such as your chosen gesture profile, keyboard behaviour, appearance and device list layout. These contain no personal information.

Deleting Geodic removes all of it.

Permissions the app asks for

Local Network
MeshCentral servers are frequently on a local network rather than the public internet, so iOS requires your permission before Geodic can reach one. The app uses this only to contact the address you entered. It does not scan, enumerate or catalogue your network.
Face ID / Touch ID
Used in two optional places: to unlock your saved snippets before they are typed into a remote machine, and — if you turn it on in Settings — to unlock the app itself. Biometric matching is performed entirely by iOS; the app is told only whether the check succeeded. Geodic never has access to your biometric data, and neither do we. Nothing about these checks is recorded or transmitted.

Clipboard and file transfer

Geodic can copy the clipboard to and from a remote machine, can send text directly between two machines, and can send and receive files. Every one of these transfers is something you start deliberately — the app does not read your clipboard in the background or move files on its own. Transferred content goes directly to the MeshCentral server you are connected to and passes through no service of ours.

Children

Geodic is a system administration tool. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone, of any age.

Third-party code

Geodic includes SwiftTerm, an open-source terminal emulator, which renders terminal sessions on screen. It performs no networking of its own and sends no data anywhere. The app includes no other third-party components, and no advertising, analytics or attribution SDKs.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes we will update the effective date above. Because the app collects nothing, we do not expect substantive changes.
