Geodic

Support

Geodic is a remote desktop, terminal and file client for MeshCentral servers.

Getting help

Email support@geodic.app. Please include your iOS version, your device model, and the MeshCentral server version you are connecting to — that last one is shown at the bottom of the MeshCentral web interface.

Before you write in

It will not connect to my server

Enter the server address without https:// — Geodic adds it for you. If your server uses a self-signed certificate, turn on Allow untrusted certificate on the sign-in screen.

It cannot find my server on the local network

iOS requires permission for local network access. If you declined it the first time, turn it back on in Settings → Geodic → Local Network.

The remote screen is black, or never appears

The machine needs a MeshAgent build that includes remote desktop support, and a graphical session to capture. A headless Linux box has no screen to share — its terminal and files still work, and Geodic hides the desktop button rather than offering one that cannot work.

The mouse works but typing does nothing

The remote machine believes a modifier key is still held. Open Options during the session and choose Release Modifier Keys.

I do not understand a gesture profile

Open Options during a session and tap the ⓘ beside any profile for the full list of its gestures. To make one the default for a machine, set it under Gesture profile on that machine's info screen.

Sending the clipboard to a Mac does nothing, or hangs

The macOS agent sets the clipboard by piping text through a shell, and a quote or newline can break that. Open the desktop and use Type Clipboard instead, which sends the text as keystrokes.

A file transfer stopped when I left the app

iOS suspends apps shortly after they go to the background, and the connection cannot survive that. Transfers keep running while you move around inside Geodic, but not once you switch to another app for more than a few moments.

Privacy
